HISTORY
Cooper-Booth Wholesale Company has been a trusted name in wholesale distribution since 1865, when Booth Tobacco Company was established in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Over the years, the company expanded through the acquisition of Cooper Tobacco and several other distributors.

Booth Tobacco Company is founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
1952

1952
Julius Margolis and his son Burton take over Booth Tobacco.
1963

1963
Booth Tobacco becomes one of the first distributors to process orders with punch cards.
1971-72

1971-72
Booth Tobacco acquires Cooper Tobacco Company and becomes Cooper-Booth.
A new 21,000 square foot distribution center is built on Centerville Road in Lancaster.
1978-79

1978-79
Cooper-Booth continues to grow with the acquisition of York Cigar and CH Stallman and Sons.
1983

1983
Cooper-Booth adds grocery, frozen, and refrigerated product categories to become a full-line convenience store distributor.
1990-1999

1990-1999
Barry Margolis, a third generation member of the Margolis family, joins the business.
CBW services is expanded to MD, DE, VA, WV, and NJ.
1997

1997
CBW builds a new 100,000 square foot distribution center.
2000-2007

2000-2007
CBW implements an e-commerce website and the sales force is equipped with wireless PDA units.
2018

2018
CBW expands to double the size of its warehouse space.
